Sprites were wonderful. Really enjoyed the background... and it has cats!

I like the pixel art. It's a nice start and if you keep updating it, I'll definitely come back and check in on it to see how it goes.

While I was playing, I went into the cave looking place and went all the way to the bottom of the level and then found that I couldn't jump back out from the area. My jump was just too short to jump on the platform that I assumed I was supposed to jump back on.

Crap! That's a big blunder :O

Thank you for pointing it out. Fixing it ASAP even if this is still a prototype anyway

Nice start! I'll definitely keep an eye on this. As you mentioned, it's still in an early stage of development so I'll have to see more before I can give a lot of feedback.

So far, I like the graphics! The enemy sprites look nice, I like the cat theme. I kind of want to see the slime be cat-themed too! Maybe ears and face?

The music is pretty good! I liked the track in the Abandoned Mine the best! I'll have to try out Labchirp. The sfx sound like a step up from the Bfxr stuff I end up making.

Nice work, looking forward to the next version!

Thanks for trying.

The slime being a cat-theme... IS A FANTASTIC IDEA!! Why didn't I think of that sooner -- tho I guess if the slime is going to have a face it's going to be asymmetric and that means I might need a little bit more coding; but I'll definitely give a cat face and ears to the slime in the future XD

So glad you like the music -- not a composer, so I'm  not confident with my musical ability. The Abandoned Mine theme is indeed the one I spent the most time with. Kind of get excited when I learnt about FL Studio's automation feature to change tempo mid-song; and also did a few key-changes in scales not so simple (B minor and F# minor). It is the one the one I put the most effort in -- because it was made before the week I got squashed with assignments left and right T^T. The other two were made during that kind of time so I guess one can feel the "I just want to finish this track already" vibe from especially the Plain theme. The title screen theme that was surprisingly satisfying was made in just an hour yesterday, when I was sitting in front of my computer and suddenly heard a melody in my head and immediately opened my FL Studio

Labchirp is indeed very powerful... but what I can say is... that it's extremely difficult to use. You can make a ton of combinations of non-8-bit sounds with 8 channels; and also some custom waveform you can draw. The problem is, how would you know the shape of the wave of the sound you are aiming for? It's insane. Fortunately labchirp does have a few templates already (one of them being "Meow" -- guess which sounds used that template lol)

The next version might need to wait until summer vacation (Aug-Sept)... Next quarter my schedule will be extremely tight -- the only games I'll be making are short simple (*cough* low-effort *cough cough*) mini games. Might make some progress here and there, but will probably mostly trivial progresses
