The sky city of wonderful heaven is being sieged by an army of demons. It's up to you, the guardian shooting star of the city, to rescue the angels from being devoured by demons.

(Note: you as the guardian star is basically invincible -- just focus on rescuing the angels)

Control: Mouse only. Click to dash (dashing kills demons)

Made for Mini Jam 70: Heaven. Limitation: The player has to be an inanimate object.

Kind of unfortunate I had some schedule on the last day of the jam so I had to finish this game a day early; as a result this game was quite rushed. Still wanted to polish this game a little bit more m(_ _)m

Made with Godot Engine; music was composed by myself  on the last day with purchased FL Studio 20 -- do forgive the quality of the music for I am no composer :P

Update 0.0.1 (12/28/2020 6:52AM JST): Fixed the annoyance of angel spawning too close to border, causing the angel extremely hard to rescue.

Fun game it was a bit unclear what to do at first but i got the hang of it. The music was cool however i think that maybe you could make the screen size a bit bigger

Thank you for the kind feedback! Glad you liked it.

Oh wow so 640:360 was too small huh. The game is originally 320:180 and I doubled the scale seems like I should've tripled it to 960:540 instead.

Yeah i think a bigger screen size would make it easier to play

It's simple but quite fun and addictive! The art is cute and pleasant to look at, and the gameplay loop works really well.

I liked the locomotion once I got used to it, but sometimes angels spawned in places that were very difficult to get to. I also wish there was more of a difficulty ramp; it basically reaches an equilibrium and I felt I could only lose by really screwing up or getting unlucky.

Thanks!

Hm. I must agree that perhaps the angels shouldn't spawn too close to edge.

Regarding the diff ramp... yea I do realize that tbh... but really, idk how to fix it (^.^;

I think if I had more time I would have added some speedy demons and demons that DO interfere with the players in some ways but for now... this is as much as I can do m(_ _)m

Nice work! The pixel art is good, and I like the parallaxed islands in the background! Also, I think the music came out really well, especially if you made it in a day!

My main critique would be the control. Perhaps it's intentionally, but the kick-back from the auto-shooting gets annoying. I found myself wishing that there was a shoot button, instead of auto attack. This also lead to situations where rescuing the angel was super hard... anytime they spawned at the edge of the screen, I'd end up bouncing around trying to collect them.

On the other hand, I suppose the game would be very easy if there wasn't some difficulty in the controls.

My highscore was 17!

Thanks!!
